| Louie Lee | Equinix | Louie Lee has occupied leading positions in network operations since 1995. Prior to his current employment at Equinix, Louie operated Netcom On-Line Communications' network (later ICG Communications) for several years. Equinix recruited him in early 2000 to run the corporate wide-area & local-area networks, and build carrier-class neutral public network exchanges in the Equinix Internet Business Exchange centers. His team operates and maintains seven exchange switch fabrics and five paid peering fabrics across the United States. He also supports four exchange switch fabrics in the Asia-Pacific region. In September 2005, Louie was promoted to Senior Network Architect into the newly-created New Service Development division where his new role includes research & development in the areas of network switch technologies, IPv6, and multicast applications. Louie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis. His plans to enter into the health sciences field were permanently interrupted by his hobby-turned-career. Louie was re-elected for a 3rd three-year term on the ICANN ASO Address Council ending December 31, 2012. He served as the Co-Chair on the AC in 2007. And presently, he is serving as the Chair (2008, 2009, 2010). |
